Halloween 2011

Apparently it's been a while, not only since we posted, but probably since we even logged on. Maybe, just maybe, I'll reinvigorate the efforts. We did a family costume of the three little pigs and the big, bad, and ugly, wolf. Kind of a meager effort on the wolf but the little piggies were good.

Earlier Halloween Weekend

Maddie and Del helped David bring wood in for a fire. They had so much fun helping their papa. Once they were done and came inside, Maddie ran up to me and said "Mommy, I moved wood and I had fun." She was so happy and proud of herself. Del just loves any excuse to play outside.

Maddie as a Bunny, Del as a Carrot, David as a Midget on Stilts, Lindsey as a Butterfly. Maddie loved Trick-or-Treating this cold and snowy year. When they told her she could take more candy, it did not matter what we said, she would not leave until she got more candy. Del enjoyed taking the candy out of the bowl as well. Although the kids really enjoyed eating their treats the most.

Update at Last

It has been long in coming, but here it is. Pictures and info! Delmon - He has two bottom teeth with two more on the way. He has perfected rolling over and is working on scooting (the first signs of crawling). He is so very happy and is always full of fun stories and giggles. He is a very good sleeper and will be getting his own bed very soon (tomorrow hopefully). He is getting so big. He hasn't been weighed for a while but my guess is he weighs about 19 pounds and 26.5 inches long. Our little boy is growing up so fast :( Madeline - She is loving being a big sister and is so wonderful at it. She has a big love of the water. The beach is her favorite place this summer. She has lots of words now. She can point to all of her body parts and knows a lot of animals and their sounds. She is a big ball of energy and loves to play on her personal jungle gym, Papa! She tried potty training for a day and was not ready, we will try again in a couple months. She loves gardening. She has put in more time in the garden than mom has.

The New Youngest Carter

Delmon James Carter was born at 8:43 am on Sunday, May 10th. He weighed 10 pounds 4 ounces and is 23 inches long. We are very happy to welcome him to our family. Madeline loves him! She gives him kisses all the time and will even share her beloved blanket with him when he cries (which isn't that often). He is a very laid back little boy. He sleeps about 22 hours a day and even when he is awake is happy to just chill out with the family.

She is a little monkey!!

Well it has been a long time in coming, but here is an update on Miss Maddie! She has been walking and running for the past 3 months now. She only sits still long enough to eat and draw. She loves sitting in her chair with a pen and paper. It was a surprise to us that she knew how to hold a pencil perfectly without being shown. Her favorite toy is a doll stroller that she pushes around the house carrying an assortment of things from a sauce pan to a ball. She has tried out a couple new activities lately, sledding and painting. As you can guess, sledding is her favorite... little adrenaline junky! She is getting so big. At her 1 year check up she weighed almost 22 pounds and was 32 inches tall. She currently has 11 teeth and is working on her last bottom molar. Her 1st birthday was a blast, she celebrated for about a month and got loads of presents. Her best present though was finding out that she will be getting a little brother in May. While she doesn't quite understand what that is yet she loves giving moms growing belly hugs. Although she is in a hugging and kissing phase now, which is so sweet. She is starting daycare 2 mornings a week for some kid interaction, which she craves. She will be with her best friend Sany and she is very excited about that. .

Baby Steps

Maddie worked up the courage today to try a few quick steps without holding on to anything. There is some work to do, but she is making headway and is getting very close. I think by the time we are California she'll have it down. Today was a beautiful fall day out here and that often means raking leaves this time of year. Raking leaves mean piles of leaves and that can only be fun. So after helping rake, she got to play.

Update

Well Maddie is growing every day. She just had her 9 month check up and she is 29 1/2 inches and she is 19 pounds 5 ounces. She still has 7 teeth and is working on a few more that are taking their time coming in. She is enjoying visiting with her Aunt Jodi in Syracuse, NY this week. Last night she took her first carousel ride and loved it. (Pictures coming soon) She giggled, kicked her legs and sang. She was so cute! She has picked her favorite toy that she just can not live without, a baby doll. She carries it with her everywhere. She eats, sleeps and plays with it. And yes the baby went on the carousel ride too.

Sorry it has been so long since our last post, but here is Maddie's update! She currently has 8 teeth with 2 more on the way. She eats all the time and anything you put in front of her. Her favorite foods are corn on the cob and apples. She is very, very active and is close to walking. She loves going to the park to go down the slide and she loves swimming. She is still very funny, making all sorts of faces and laughing all the time. She has even perfected her fake smile. She tells us lots of stories and sings all the time.We love her very much and will vow to try and be better about posting. :)

We are so sorry we have been neglecting the blog. Here is Maddie's update. She has been crawling for over a month now and she is pulling her self up on everything and can walk around it. It is hard to keep her confined these days. She is a sweet little monster! She has 5 teeth now with another one almost through. She is now eating breakfast, lunch and dinner with a small snack or two. She loves anything she can feed herself, but Cheerios are her favorite. She went to her first concert, Spearhead, and danced until dark with a huge smile on her face. She took her first plane ride the next day all the way to California. She loved California. She went swimming in the bay and loved it. She went rock climbing with mom, dad and Bob. She really wanted to climb too, but we told her she needed to be able to walk first. She played in Golden Gate Park and played tourist around San Francisco. She got to meet papa's old school friends and was able to spend lots of time Grammy, Grandpa and Aunt Sarah. Her first week home was full of stories to her friends Zanna, Carter and Colby, who all came to play with her. She likes to tell stories, but she only has 3 words though, mama, dada and baby. Not to worry though she adds lots of other sounds so her stories are usually quite long. This past week she has been enjoying her Aunt Jodi who will be leaving soon, she will miss her a lot. Well that is pretty much it for the past month in Maddie's world. Lots of pictures will be coming soon!

We had a long day putting the garden in today. Maddie is very excited!

Such a big girl! She just got her first toothbrush and loves getting her 2 teeth brushed. She is able to get onto her hands and knees and take a step forward before doing a face plant.... she will be crawling any day now. Her friend Sana invited her over for a pool party last weekend and she had loads of fun playing in the pool. She is really enjoying having her Aunt Jodi around every day and she was really happy to have her Grandma Carter come for a weekend. She is very loved! She is changing every day. Her favorite things this week are her right hand, paper, jewelry and her Red Golfing Disc.
